The central location of Andrian holds a lot of variety.
You can easily explore the charms of our old cities, with all their offers regarding culture and museums. A visit to the “Ötzimuseum” in Bolzano, a trip to the castle gardens of “Trautmannsdorf” in Merano, a nice shopping stroll through the colourful markets or a splendid panoramic hike on the nearby plateaus leave nothing to be desired.
Without using a car you can discover great footpaths and visit castles, and along the way indulge yourself in one of the “Buschenschänken” offering good traditional cuisine, excellent wine and South Tyrolean hospitality.
For the sports enthusiasts Andrian offers tennis courts and a large outdoor swimming pool. Cycling through the endless orchards and vineyards creates a very special feeling. Well prepared cycle paths extend the offer.
The flowers in spring are enchanting. You are invited to cycle through the blossoming orchards and through the asparagus fields of the valley. Try some of the asparagus specialties and South Tyrol´s delicious asparagus wine.
Summer in the valley starts early - which will delight nature lovers as well as sun seekers. There are a lot of opportunities for sports like swimming, hiking and mountaineering.
In autumn, the apple and grape harvests are the reward for the farmer´s effort and work in the orchards and vineyards. With great care the apples are brought in and on “Hofer” farm a delicious apple juice is made. The wine will be pressed in the wineries and delivered in early October, just on time for the traditional “Törggelen”. This is the right time when the "Nuie” (new wine) can be tasted together with typical South Tyrolean dishes and roast chestnuts.
Even the winter has its charms. In the old towns Christmas markets are set up for the Advent season. For winter sports enthusiasts, there is the possibility to practice different winter sports in the well-known and easily accessible skiing areas nearby.
